MRPITI celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Jan 29, 2010. Mr. MRB Punja, Former Chairman, IDBI, Mr. K Abhayachandra Jain, MLA, Mulki-Moodabidre, Mr. K Amarnath Shetty, Former minister, Govt. of Karnataka, Mr. SR Umashankar, Commissioner, Directorate of Employment and Training, Bangalore, Mr. Krishna Gopal, General Manager (O & M), Udupi Power Corporation Ltd., Nandikoor and Mr. MH Aravinda Punja, Chairman, Silver Jubilee committee were the chief guests.
The function was presided over by the President of Nitte Education Trust, Mr. NV Hegde.

The valedictory function was presided over by Mr. N.V Hegde. Mr. Rajendra M, Director (Finance and Planning) NET, Mr. Vishal Hegde, Trustee, NET, Mrs. Padmavathi Punja, wife of Mr. MR Hari Punja, founder of the ITI and Mr. Aravinda Punja, Chairman of the Silver Jubilee Committee were the chief guests.

Mr. K Abhayachandra Jain, Chief Whip, Opposition Party, Govt. of Karnataka and MLA, Mulki Moodabidri, released the silver jubilee souvenir, Kaushalya Kiran while Mr. Krishna Gopal, G.M(O & M) UPCL, Padubidri, released Tapovana, a special issue of the quarterly magazine of the Institute.

Student achievers and former staff members of the Institute were felicitated by Mr. K Amarnath Shetty, Ex-Minister, Govt. of Karnataka and by Mr. Giridhar Salian, Dy. Director (Trg.) Dept. of Employment & Trg. Principal, Govt. ITI, Mangalore.

A 2-day staff training programme on Innovative methods and Quality enhancement was held on Jan. 22 & 23, 2010 at NMAMIT. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. SY Kulkarni, Principal of NMAMIT. The sessions were taken up by the faculty from Justice K.S Hegde Institute of Management, NMAMIT, Mr. Giridhar Salian and Mr. Rajendra Bhat, JC International Trainer.

The valedictory programme was held on Jan. 23. Mr. A. Yogish Hegde was the chief guest of the function, which was presided over by Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Vice Principal, NMAMIT. Dr. MS Moodithaya, Director of JKSHIM delivered the valedictory address. The programme was attended by the faculty from various I.T.Is of Udupi & D.K. Districts.

A programme on Press, Media and Youth was organised for the students of D.K and Udupi Districts, on Jan. 6, 2010 in association with the Mulki Press Club. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Harsha, President D.K. District Working Journalists Association and presided over by Mr. MH Aravinda Punja, Chairman, Silver Jubilee Committee. Mr. Bhagyavan J Sanil, President, Mulki Press Club, and Mr. Umesh Rao, Yekkar, Retd. Teacher were the guests of honour.

The resource persons for the various sessions were Mr. Chidambara Baikampady, Sr. Journalist-V4 Media, Mr. Guruvappa Balepuni and Mr. Rajesh K.C, Journalists. Mr. Umesh Rao and Mr. Chidambara Baikampady, were felicitated at the function. A.G Soans I.T.C, Moodabidri, Hebick I.T.C. Mangalore and St. Aloysius I.T.C, Mangalore bagged I, II, III places, respectively, in the quiz competition which was held as part of the programme.
