Eligibility for the B.E course:

A pass in the 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (V.T.U) with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Science / Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study, with atleast 45% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects.
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission.

The NMAM Institute of Technology admits students belonging to the following categories:
1. NRI / Foreign national / P.I.O category
2. General category

Eligibility for the M.C.A course:

A candidate who possesses a Bachelors degree of minimum three years duration, recognised by the V.T.U and has studied Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Programming / Computer Science / Computer Applications as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination is eligible.

Admission to the course is through an entrance examination and an interview. Candidates seeking admission to the MCA course are required to appear for the PGCET(Common Entrance Test) conducted by VTU. Those seeking admission under the management quota should appear for the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test(K-MAT) conducted by the Karnataka Private Post-graduate Colleges Association.

Direct admission to NRI / Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin and children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries:

The college has the approval for directly admitting students in 15% supernumerary quota. This is applicable to N.R.Is, Foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin and children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries. The admission under this category is based on merit in the qualifying examination in the core subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Bio-technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Science / Biology.

The candidates admitted under this category are required to produce proof of their NRI / Foreign National / PIO status i.e., if the student has passed the 12th std. abroad, attested photocopies of the transfer certificate, valid passport and student visa; if the student has studied in India and parent is working abroad, then proof of employment of the parent, attested copy of the passport of the parent, and PIO card (for persons of Indian origin).

Students seeking admission under the NRI category should submit a separate application to the college in the prescribed format, available at the Trust Office, Mangalore or from the website www.nitte.ac.in along with the following documents:

1. Attested photocopy of the 10th standard marks card.
2. Attested photocopy of the 10 + 2 marks card.
3. A demand draft for Rs.500/- towards registration fee favoring "Nitte Education Trust - A/c NMAMIT", payable at Mangalore.
4. Proof of NRI status.

The payment of fee shall be from the Non Resident External (N.R.E) account of the parent.

The admissions under the General category will be through the process of centralised single window counseling on the basis of merit obtained in the Common Entrance Test that maybe prescribed for the purpose by the Government of Karnataka.

The course commences as per the date prescribed by the University, most likely during August.

List of documents to be produced at the time of admission:

1. 12th standard equivalent marks card / pass certificate - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
2. 10th standard pass certificate for proof of date of birth - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
3. Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
4. Conduct certificate from the institution last attended - Original only.
5. Eligibility certificate issued by the Registrar, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum (separate application is to be made to the VTU).
6. Migration certificate from the Board of the institution last studied.
7. Valid passport and student VISA for the period of study.
8. Proof of NRI / Foreign National / PIO status.
9. Proof of employment abroad of the parent (for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries).
10. Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
11. Blood group certificate.
12. Photographs - passport size 05, stamp size 05.

For Foreign nationals: (In addition to the requirements in Sl.nos.1 to 12)

1. No Objection Certificate from the Government of India
2. AIDS free certificate from a competent medical authority.
3. Residential permit issued by the Foreigners Registration office and the District Superintendent of Police.
