Eligibility for B.E

A pass in the 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the Visvesvaraya Technological University with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Science / Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study, with atleast 45% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects.
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission.

Direct admission to NRI / Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin and children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries: 

The candidates admitted under this category are required to produce proof of their NRI / Foreign National / PIO status i.e., if the student has passed the 12th std. abroad, attested photocopies of the transfer certificate, valid passport and student visa; if the student has studied in India and parent is working abroad, then proof of employment of the parent, attested copy of the passport of the parent.

Students seeking admission under the NRI category should submit a separate application to the college in the prescribed format, available at the Trust Office, Mangalore or from the website www.nitte.ac.in along with the following documents:

1. Attested photocopy of the 10th standard marks card.
2. Attested photocopy of the 10 + 2 marks card.
3. A demand draft for Rs.500/- towards registration fee favoring "Nitte Education Trust - A/c NMIT", payable at Mangalore.
4. Proof of NRI status.

The admissions under the General category will be through the process of centralised single window counseling on the basis of merit obtained in the Common Entrance Test that may be prescribed for the purpose by the Government of Karnataka.

The course commences as per the date prescribed by the University, most likely during September.

List of documents to be produced at the time of admission

1. 12th standard equivalent marks card / pass certificate - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
2. 10th standard pass certificate for proof of date of birth - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
3. Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
4. Conduct certificate from the institution last attended - Original only.
5. Eligibility certificate issued by the Registrar, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum (separate application is to be made to the VTU).
6. Migration certificate from the Board of the institution last studied.
7. Valid passport and student VISA for the period of study.
8. Proof of NRI / Foreign National / PIO status.
9. Proof of employment abroad of parent (for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries).
10. Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
11. Blood group certificate.
12. Photographs - passport size 05, stamp size 05.

For foreign nationals: (In addition to the requirements in Sl.nos.1 to 12)

1. AIDS free certificate from a competent medical authority.
2. Residential permit issued by the Foreigners Registration office and the District Superintendent of Police.

The Institute offers a two-year MBA program which is recognised by the AICTE, New Delhi and the Government of Karnataka. It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

Graduates in Agriculture, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Law, Science or other disciplines coming under the 10+2+3 scheme recognised by the VTU (or any other examination recognised by the VTU) with a minimum of 50% marks (aggregate of three years including languages) in the qualifying examination can apply.Those appearing for final degree examinations can also apply. 

Karnataka students: Selection will be through the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by VTU or, through a valid score in any of the entrance tests conducted at National level (such as MAT) or, through Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT).

Non-Karnataka students: Selection will be through a valid score in any of the entrance tests conducted at National level or, through Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT), eligible for Management quota seats.

A candidate who possesses a Bachelor"s degree of minimum three years duration, recognised by the V.T.U but has studied Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Programming / Computer Science / Computer Applications as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level and with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination is eligible.
