Established in 1989 by the Nitte Education Trust, the Dr. Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial English Medium High School is named after late Dr. Shankar Adyanthaya, a renowned medical practitioner of Karkala. The school is located in the Jnana Meenakshi Campus, Kemmannu Road, Nitte.
Situated in a picturesque rural surrounding, 10 kms. from Karkala, the N.M.A.M Institute of Technology, Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management, N.R.A.M Polytechnic, Dr. N.S.A.M First Grade College and the Dr. N.S.A.M High School and Junior College are the other institutions on the campus.
The Dr. N S A M English Medium High School is recognised by the Government of Karnataka and since April 2008 is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
In 2006, the School bagged the British Council International School Award. The award entitles the school to participate in sponsored international staff and student exchange programs and assures that the school has the quality standards prescribed by the British Council. The School also has a Global School Partnership with Hutchesons Grammar School, Scotland.
