First Aid and Life-Saving Skills Training

Dr. NSAM Pre-University College, Nanthoor jointly with Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organized a one-day training program at Deralakatte on First Aid and Life-Saving Skills (Aapathbandhu) for the NSS students of Nitte group to equip the students with essential knowledge and practical skills required to handle medical emergencies. Dr. Naveen Shetty K, President, D K District PUC Principal’s Association & Principal of Dr.NSAM PU College highlighted that NSS serves as a guiding light for achieving success in life besides helping students develop discipline and service-oriented qualities He also stressed the importance of practical knowledge beyond textbooks. The training sessions covered vital topics such as CPR bandaging techniques, seizure management and first aid for snakebites. Expert guidance was provided by the resource persons Ms. Jeevitha Alva, Mr. Sukesh, Mr. Basavaraj and Ms. Deepthi who demonstrated and explained the procedures in detail.

The event was presided over by Prof. (Dr) Sabitha Nayak, Vice-Principal, NUINS who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively apply these skills in real-life situations, reinforcing the value of service to society. The event was coordinated by Mr. Santhosh A. Shetty, Program Officer and faculty, Ms. Vidyarani Alva.
