Badminton Tournament for Pre-university Students

Dr. NSAM Pre-University College, Nanthoor, in association with the Department of Pre-University Education, D.K organized a district-level badminton tournament for Pre-University students at the B.C. Alva Indoor Stadium, Deralakatte on 23rd August 2025.

Inaugurating the event, Col. B S Ghivari, Asst. Director (Student Affairs), Nitte University emphasized that along with education, participation in sports is essential for personality development. He observed that through active involvement in games, students cultivate qualities of discipline, teamwork, respect and a healthy competitive spirit. He further noted that sports contribute not only to physical fitness but also to mental strength, self-confidence and leadership skills, which together prepare students for challenges in life.

Dr. Naveen Shetty K, Principal stated that perseverance and consistent efforts make the path to success smoother. While ordinary people may give up after defeat, true achievers are ready to face losses until they win. He further emphasized that hard work and sportsmanship help one succeed in life, and any task done with complete dedication ensures that we need not bow our heads before anyone. The occasion was graced by Shri Chandrashekar Shetty, Treasurer, D K District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Ullal Taluk and Mr. Subraya Kamath, Mangaluru Taluk Sports Coordinator. The Physical Education Directors of Nitte institutions were present on the occasion.

The Boys’ team of the college emerged as the Runners-Up in the Tournament.
